Assistant General Manager

Position Purpose Assists in directing and coordinating activities of all Technical Services Group departments at Central Valley and aids General Manager in formulating and administering organizational policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate departmental managers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Management Responsibilities Directs department managers who manage a total of 70 to 80 employees. Is responsible for assisting the General Manager in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all departments. Including: planning, assigning, directing work and training employees. Carries out management and responsibilities under the direction of the General manager in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Assists Human Resources with interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, rewarding, disciplining, dismissing, and addressing complaints and resolving problems of employees. Serves as a mentor and role model to other employees. Must have the ability to operate effectively in both an office and industrial plant environment, build successful team relationships and maintain positive coworker interactions.

Physical and Mental Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to risk of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic energies. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical equipment; in outside weather conditions; and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places, confined spaces, and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals or disease causing organisms all of which require knowledge of safety requirements and strict use of proper personal protective equipment. Work is sometimes performed in noisy environments which require hearing protection.
