Wayne County Service Technician Job Posting 02/24/2021 – 03/13/2021 INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING
Purpose of Position: Complete all maintenance and new line construction safely and properly within a timely manner. Perform all duties relating to restoration of power during outages due to storms, fallen trees, man-made outages, etc. Maintain existing lines and structures including pole change-outs, transformer changes, damaged wiring, etc. Routine service work turn-ons, turn-offs, hanging and repairing security lights, running new services, etc. Will be required to be in the “on-call” rotation and live within a 30-minute driving time (utilizing Google Maps™ to calculate the drive time) to the Wayne County office. Assist East KY Power in line switching as required. Assist in substation power restoration when required within company guidelines. Assist members by answering questions about new or existing service, right of way procurement, permission to be on property, and/or delinquent accounts. Participate in and support all safety meetings. Assist other teams as needed (such as Staking Engineers, Right of Way, Office Personnel, etc.). Responsible for warehouse duties including putting up stock and inventory tracking. Daily paperwork that includes completing a daily inspection sheet on trucks as assigned. General housekeeping within office and garage areas. Participate and support SKRECC community functions and promote a positive image of the cooperative. Strive to maintain a positive working relationship with all teams and work as one unit within the district office. All other duties as assigned. Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Four (4) complete years progressively responsible experience in the construction and maintenance of electric distribution systems. Must have minimum classification of lineman per SKRECC guidelines. The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 minutes (using Google™ Maps) of the Wayne County district office and will be required to become part of the on-call rotation for the Wayne County Service Team. Must strive to maintain a positive working relationship with all teams and work as one unit within the district office. Must have a Class A CDL license, First Aid/CPR certification, pole top rescue certification, bucket rescue certification, any additional lineman and climbing school training or equivalent training is preferred.
