The City of Cedar Park has an exciting new position available, Captial Projects Manager! This position is responsible for directing the activities of staff and personally performing a broad range of project management, construction administration, and planning and architectural/engineering services in the development and implementation of the City's Capital Improvement Program.
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field plus at least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in management of facility, parks, and roadway capital improvement design and construction projects, and at least two (2) years of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid Texas Driver's License, with an acceptable record.
Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), or combination thereof preferred.
Knowledge of: project management, alternative project delivery methods such as competitive sealed proposals (CSP) and construction manager at risk (CMAR), project cost estimating, budgeting and procurement processes, municipal capital improvement project planning, design and construction, and general municipal operations.
Skill/Ability to: operate computers using standard word processing, scheduling and spreadsheet software; foster an environment of cooperation and teamwork within project teams, establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with internal City personnel, local, state, and federal government officials and the general public; demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communications and gather, compile, analyze, and evaluate a variety of data to make sound decisions.
