The position of Project Engineer with Sync Systems is responsible for designing residential and commercial integration systems, including automation, distributed audio and video, security, surveillance, lighting control, and motorized window treatments. They will serve as a liaison between sales and design and between sales and production upon creation of a structured project. This position will provide seamless communication by attending and participating in all local sales, production, and scheduling meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the timely completion and delivery of project documents necessary to communicate to clients, field personnel, and others the intended wiring design, layout, appearance, and programming requirements of individual components of the project.
Maintain proactive and regular communication, verbally and in writing, with clients, general contractors, and other project representatives to keep them informed about technical aspects of the project.
Provide technical support to project installation and procurement teams.
Provide technical sales support to sales team members, clients, and other project stakeholders.
Stay current on technical and industry trends that may affect system designs, such as the emergence of new technologies, sub-systems, components, and product lines.
Attends sales calls/meetings .
Develop accurate Scopes of Work.
Detailed intake capturing (thorough notes, pictures, marked up plans, etc.) to adequately document the expectation of the client/project.
Clearly organize and manage all documentation related to Design Service Agreements (DSAs) and closed projects
Create Proposals and submit requests for proposal revisions
Submit RFPs and RFIs in a timely manner to the design team
Update design team on due date changes as they happen
Be the Design team representative in client/project meetings as needed
Coordinate design review meeting as needed to review plans and proposal requests
Clearly define system changes so that design can produce accurate revisions
Constantly updating CRM data including dollar totals, status, and relevant dates
Verification of data for sales projection, weighted and otherwise
Tracking of all bids submitted, revisions, closed contracts, etc.
Provide weekly “Closed Project Goals” for sales meetings.
Create and adjust due dates and sales goals (yearly, monthly, and weekly).
3+ years of experience in commercial and/or residential electronic systems design and installation.
Ability to conceptualize technical component interactions and installation environments to ensure a functional design prior to physical installation.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in D-Tools, Revit, Visio, AutoCAD, Excel, and SharePoint.
Ability to read and understand technical specifications and architectural blueprints.
Ability to perform calculations, analyze reports, and engage in strategic and creative problem solving.
