Every South Mountain design-build project rests on a foundation of integrated architecture, engineering, and building. The work of a Project Lead inhabits the overlap. You’ll orchestrate the construction of beautiful, high-performance buildings. You’ll make sawdust on the job site most days but maintain close lines of communication with architects, engineers, and admin staff via iPad/ iPhone. You’ll manage a crew of carpenters in addition to an extensive network of trade partners.
Assist with estimating and scheduling
Plan and supervise construction and renovation jobs from start to finish
Maintain an orderly and safe site
Communicate and work toward the performance, schedule, and budget goals of each project
Use a variety of mobile, cloud-based communication tools
Act as a reliable, capable and supportive member of the team
Mastery of all Carpenter skills described in the SMC Carpenter Manual (See Appendix B of Operating Policies below)
5 years relevant work experience
Leadership skills and inclinations
Expertise in reading and understanding construction documents
US citizenship or a US work permit (also called an employment authorization document or EAD)
Fluency in written and spoken English
Teaching and mentoring
