CBE has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Computer Specialist. The position involves both highly skilled technical work and interaction with other (technical and non-technical) faculty, staff, and computing colleagues, as well as vendor support teams, to address computing issues and opportunities associated with end-user, fabrication, classroom, and studio computing and to analyze issues develop solutions for teaching and research computing. Successful candidates will have breadth and depth of the required technical skill set and great resourcefulness to effectively address a wide and continuously changing range of difficult technical problems and opportunities. They will provide skilled, effective, and empathetic support to CBE students, faculty, and staff contributing to the mutually supportive and resourceful culture of the College.
Responsibilities
Computing Support Staff and Faculty Windows and Mac desktop/laptop setup and configuration Fabrication lab development and support Classroom/studio technical support Collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and computing colleagues to address computing issues Development and system administration of CBE’s Windows, Linux, Citrix, Apache, MySQL, and PHP server infrastructure. Creation and deployment of desktop software images throughout the College. Network license management for dozens of applications used across the College. Consultation with CBE Web Developer, other computing colleagues, faculty, staff, and outside technical resources to address complex issues and opportunities.
Supervisory Delegation of end user support to student consultants, follow up on task assignments, and manage student worker scheduling.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Two years of experience with the following: Windows and Mac OS user support experience Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, self-directed and proactive. Application support experience such as Zoom, Office, and Adobe Suite. Knowledge of general office networking hardware (i.e., switches, cabling, printers)
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Desired
Experience supporting Network and Cloud (Google, Azure) file storage Knowledge of web technologies such as Apache, MySQL, PHP, Linux
