Food Tech is a design-build firm that plans, designs, and constructs food plants across the United States.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer-In Training (EIT) with experience in drafting/modeling experience in Revit. This includes knowledge and experience in power distribution layouts, lighting design, fire alarm design and coordination with HVAC-Plumbing-Refrigeration systems. Experience in the design of food production facilities would be beneficial, but not required. This position will work directly with a Senior Engineer and/or Electrical Designer on our design projects. The intent would be to provide direction and knowledge to allow this position to learn more about Food Process electrical design.
Successful candidate to work in our Brookfield, WI office.
Responsibilities will include:
- Production of Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents in Revit.
- Production of Revit families for Electrical system components.
- Establish electrical Revit templates and project Electrical central file models.
- Coordinating with models for architectural, mechanical, plumbing & refrigeration trades.
- Coordinating with process and packaging equipment for electrical power connections.
- Assist the Project Engineer in the preparation of design criteria and bid packages for pricing by subcontractors.
- Performing shop drawing submittal reviews, RFI responses and other various construction management tasks.
- Potential for field visits with a Senior Engineer to gain experience.
Skills required:
- Proficiency in Revit
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Navisworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented, positive attitude.
- Ability to multi-task and be involved in multiple projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science (4-year) degree in Electrical Engineering required for Engineer in Training designation.
- Engineering degree from an accredited program and completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam a plus, but not required.
- Allows for future step to Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
- 2+ years of relevant drafting experience, including design work and drafting done for educational degrees.
- Any experience working for engineering/contracting firms a plus.
