Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEUnder the guidance of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, manage small projects independently and oversee phases of larger university construction projects. Reports to Director, Design and Construction Services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist in the planning, oversight, and coordination of all phases of design, construction and renovation for minor and some major. Assist in the provision of overall project management on simultaneous projects while adhering to University priorities and guidelines. Ensure construction is performed in accordance with plans and specifications, applicable construction codes, and university standards. Provide or assist in the management of project flow from inception to project completion.
Prepare contracts, change orders, minutes of meetings, and construction schedules. Assist in the processing of all related invoices, and construction pay applications in accordance with university practices and policies and procedures.
Estimate and budget project requests. Maintain financial summaries and manage project expenses, ensuring project stays within budget.
Work with computer based project-tracking systems for project management.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONAssociate's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)Entry level will be considered in conjunction with degree type. Some relevant experience in the field of institutional, public sector, health care and/or research laboratory construction is desired. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally both orally and in writing.
Understanding of basic construction financial management, accounting and cost analysis. Ability to manage ongoing construction budgets, including look-ahead items.
Proficient in the use of current software such as Microsoft Office suite and project management software programs.
