Example of Duties
The Municipality of Anchorage seeks a Project Manager for the Port of Alaska Modernization Program (PAMP). Valued at over $1 billion, this program will ensure the long term viability of Alaska’s vital seaport facility. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Manager will collect and analyze project data, calculate Earned Value of the project at various points in time, develop critical path networks and other data visualizations of the project, and develop forecasts and evidence-based recommendations to address cost and time overruns.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management and five (5) years of experience in the engineering field which must include project management experience or knowledge.
Substitutions for Experience:
Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Preferences:
Experience using Primavera P6. This position will exclusively use Primavera P6. Experienced users of Primavera P6 are desired.
Experience using Aconex. This position will exclusively use Aconex to manage documents related to this project. Experienced users of Aconex are desired.
