Advertised Job Summary:
Assists Project Management staff with the planning and implementation of capital projects. Monitor project budget, schedule and internal document processing with regular updates to project managers and supervisors. Schedule and attend meetings, provide written minutes. Review contractual documents and provide written recommendations. Assist PM with project closeout activities.
Executes development and implementation of minor capital projects, including small renovations and new construction. Working with external architects, engineers, other consultants and contractors, responsibilities will include coordination of planning, design, bidding, on-site construction administration and close-out procedures. Monitor/manage schedules, project budgets, feasibility studies, cost estimation and value engineering for capital and occasional maintenance projects. Monitor and control contractual commitments to assure performance of work including, but not limited to, compliance with drawings and specifications. Engage other University entities as required to support the management and implementation of projects. Monitor small contractor opportunities. Coordinate with the Office of the State Engineer and other state and local authorities as required.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or architecture from an accredited college or university and 1 or more years of demonstrated project management experience including experience with construction and management of construction projects and/or design. Equivalent education, experience or training may be considered.
