Position Overview:
Balfour Beatty is seeking a Quality Control Manager for a Project we have at FT Meade. The CQC Manager shall implement and manage the CQC program. The CQC Manager is assigned no other duties. The only duties and responsibilities of the CQC Manager are to manage and implement the CQC program on this contract. The CQC Manager shall not be designated as the safety competent person as defined by EM 385-1-1. Identify in the plan an alternate to serve in the event of the CQC Manager’s absence. The requirement for the alternate are the same as the CQC Manager.
The CQC Manager is required to attend the Pre-Construction Conference, design planning, design presentation and review meetings, Partnering Meetings, CQC Plan Meetings, attend the Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting, conduct the QC Meetings, perform the three phases of control except for those phases of control designated to be performed by QC specialists, perform submittal review and approval, ensure testing is performed and provide QC certifications and documentation required in this contract. The CQC Manager shall utilize the forms and/or forms information provided in the CQM for Contractors’ Course, to include the checklists for preparatory and initial meetings. Provide copies to the government. The CQC Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the three phases of control and documentation by the QC specialists, Testing Laboratory personnel and any other inspection and testing personnel required by this contract. The CQC Manager is the manager of all the QC Activities. CQC Manager shall submit documentation with each monthly invoice that the red lined/ As Built Drawings are being maintained throughout the project.
Required Experience:
Four-year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or CM on a similar size project. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QC Manager. Familiar with EM 385-1-1 requirements with experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.
