The Position
Rudin seeks to hire a highly motivated, dynamic individual to join the company as an Insurance Compliance Manager. This is a newly created role, where the individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Company’s third-party vendor database in keeping and tracking certificates of insurance and indemnification agreements for all commercial tenants, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors and the related compliance at all company locations. This role will report to the VP, Head of Risk Management.
Responsibilities:
Actively oversee and manage the third-party vendor database and analytics; manage all insurance and indemnification issues as they arise, including gaps in requisite/contractual coverage, limitation(s) in coverage, changes to indemnification agreements, and policy renewals
Update requirements including additional insureds in the system as necessary and mandated by legal
Communicate with vendors to obtain adequate project-based certificates of insurance.
Align with leadership and the legal department to ensure compliance with insurance requirements and to avoid improper assumption of risk
Communicate with both the VP of Insurance and the Head of Risk Management to assure they are aware of changes and new exposures within the operations of the company
Correspond with other departments on projects requiring insurance and time sensitive compliance
Ensure compliance with any specific State and Federal laws, such as the NY Labor Law/Scaffolding Law, which may require requesting policies and analyzing the same for proper compliance
Ensure proper Jones vendor organization (file organization and maintenance) and archive any inactive vendors
Draft exceptions and waivers to policies and follow up and track the same.
Identify and act on issues with Rudin stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service
Manage and de-escalate tense vendor/tenant situations while providing exceptional customer service, as needed
Communicate potential solutions and business issues to management
Work independently while contributing to a team environment
Special projects on an as needed basis
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field is preferred
7+ years of work experience, with at least 2 years of people management experience and relevant experience in both Vendor Relations and Insurance/Risk Compliance
Additional Insurance/Risk Designations are preferred (ARM, CPCU, etc.)
Comfortable working under pressure
Able to prioritize assignments while meeting established deadlines
Skilled in negotiating with third parties
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical/problem solving skills
Experience with Jones Certificate Tracking software a plus
