Arcadis seeks a Progressive Design Build (PDB) Cost Estimator to join the team in the Los Angeles area to improve connections and access to key destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley area.
The Cost Estimator will develop electrical cost estimates for light rail maintenance, and storage facilities with the primary primary objectives of providing a faster commute; better connectivity for all rail riders, including those with disabilities, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the region. The line will include stations, extensive utility relocation, street improvements, systems testing and commissioning, a parallel bike route to encourage alternative transportation modes, and a maintenance service facility.
Provide the development of independent design fee-low voltage electrical cost estimates (ICE) for the PDB contract.
Provide coordination with PDB contractor to establish estimating formats, understand risks, evaluate alternative phasing, means, and methods, and develop a coordinated framework for estimating.
Reviews estimates from PDB contractor and collaborates with contractor to identify, understand, and resolve variances.
Develop reports and recommendations regarding PDB contractor pricing, cost and schedule mitigation strategies, and risk management options.
Supports negotiations with PDB contractor for task orders, early work packages, and/or guaranteed maximum price/lump sum total contract pricing.
10+ years' experience in cost estimating or contract pricing for heavy civil capital projects
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - engineering, construction management, or other related field
Light rail system experience
At least 5years of experience reviewing contractor's price and cost proposals
ASPE and/or AACE International certifications

The salary range for this position is $133,000 - $200,000.
