The Project Engineer is an advanced technician responsible for overseeing all aspects of projects from needs assessment to installation and commissioning. This role requires a seasoned technician with expertise in handling complex control and DSP code, troubleshooting, and guiding less experienced technicians. The Project Engineer collaborates closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met. Responsibilities include performing site visits, organizing project documentation, conducting design reviews, coordinating site planning, managing equipment installations, commissioning systems, and maintaining quality assurance. Additionally, the Project Engineer provides field supervision, training, and leadership to installation teams. This role involves working on-site as directed by Project Managers, developing project installation plans, and ensuring timely completion of tasks to meet project deadlines.
Needs Assessment
Perform site visits as needed to assist Sales and/or Design in preparation of functional use cases and proposal
Organize notes and site visit pics and information and store in Project Folder
Design Review – Cross reference SOW’s, BOM’s, and drawings to ensure accuracy of planned installation documents
Site Planning
Work with Project Managers to ensure SOW Known Needs are addressed
Ensure facility is prepared for infrastructure installation
Conduct Site Visits as needed
Liaison with clients, general contractors, and authorized service partners on-site
Maintain on-site communication of active projects in coordination with Project Manager/Coordinator
Work with PM/PC to build a project installation plan
Install equipment as needed
Manage commissioning and testing of systems
Manage quality assurance of all systems
Ensure field reports are completed in coordination with Project Manager/Coordinator
Provide Training to less experienced technicians as needed
Installation Team – work with PM and Project and Service Coordinator to provide leadership, quality management and direction to the Install Team.
5+ years of experience in project engineering or related role
Proficiency in control and DSP code
Strong troubleshooting skills
Experience in providing field supervision and training
