About Us:
RedCloud Consulting is a global business and technology consulting firm supporting clients across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. For more than two decades, RedCloud has partnered with high-growth mid-market companies and global enterprises to solve complex business and operational challenges—leveraging modern data platforms, artificial intelligence, and secure digital and physical infrastructure to drive smarter decisions and scalable outcomes.
Overview:
The Local Security Project Engineer serves as the dedicated owner’s representative for the physical security scope across data center construction projects. This role drives onsite coordination, ensures adherence to security design standards, and acts as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, General Contractors (GCs), and Security Integrators (SIs). Each engineer will support 3–4 data center projects within a 60?minute drive in a given metro.
This role reports via dotted line to the site data center services team, partners closely with onsite project teams, and aligns with the regional client team for technical guidance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Pre-Construction & Strategic Planning
Develop and plan the security construction program with early engagement to enable smooth execution.
Review A/E drawings, design standards, and related documents; provide expert guidance to GCs and SIs.
Lead security kickoff meetings with all project stakeholders.
Onsite Execution & Coordination
Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for all physical security matters.
Guide GCs and SIs to execute work in alignment with approved security designs.
Facilitate coordination between security integrators and other trades (electrical, civil, networking, etc.) to resolve conflicts and maintain logical work sequencing.
Participate in—and when needed, organize—regular onsite project meetings to track progress, address blockers, and report status to construction teams.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Provide thorough reporting to the site construction manager to ensure all installations meet quality standards.
Validate mock-ups and subsequent field installations against drawings and design standards.
Conduct comprehensive site validation using the SORT Checklist to determine turnover readiness.
Issue Management & Communication
Identify and document onsite issues proactively; collaborate with design teams and SMEs to develop improvement plans.
Act as the central point for escalation of onsite security issues and RFIs, ensuring timely resolution.
Commissioning & Project Closeout
Drive Levels 2–4 of the security commissioning process, coordinating with SIs, third-party commissioning agents, and internal teams.
Own and manage the security punch list to ensure all deficiencies are corrected prior to system acceptance.
Oversee the SORT closeout process to ensure complete and accurate documentation and smooth handover to SecOps.
Role Structure & Geographic Requirements:
Engineers will be deployed based on metro-level project demand.
Each assignment may require travel within a defined metropolitan region (typically within 60 minutes of project sites).
Roles support multiple global regions, including APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and the U.S. (Central, East, and West).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
5+ years of experience in physical security systems, construction engineering, or a related field.
Strong understanding of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related infrastructure.
Experience coordinating cross-functional construction teams.
Ability to interpret A/E drawings and technical design standards.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and issue-management capabilities.
Willingness to travel within assigned metro areas.
