What does a great Truck Driver do?
Driving a straight truck (25,900 lbs), transporting Plastics, Statements, Material, and Equipment between facilities. Working as a team, two people move plastics. All other loads are moved by a single driver. This role is also responsible for securing cages during transit and ensure that truck weight limits are not exceeded. Mileage driven on a typical day, will vary between 60 and 100 miles. Drivers are responsible for:

Loading and unloading truck, including using two types of power equipment (walk-behind pallet jack and stand-up riding pallet jack).

Maintaining appropriate manual paperwork during work day. Drivers log times from stop to stop, what they are carrying, and how much they are carrying. (Logs are used to track performance as well as adherence to DOT, State and Federal laws.)

Maintaining phone/radio contact with supervisor and drop or pickup locations.

Inspecting truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water, load straps.

Performing daily DOT walk-around at the beginning of each shift.

Vacuuming and wipe-down interior and clean all glass.

Cleaning out box of truck.

Ability to perform physical labor- standing - lifting - bending

Past straight truck driving experience
Preferred Qualifications for Consideration :

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license required. Prefer knowledge and driving experience involving straight trucks. Trucks driven on job are straight trucks weighing 25,900 lbs.

To drive this truck, drivers must pass a complete DOT physical every 2 years.

Drug tests are required every year.

Must maintain a clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations in a 3 year period.

Must have ability to lift/move 50-65 pounds.
